First published Tuesday, March 31, 2015 The University awarded a contract for service to ASP of Sterrad and Evotech units to Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. dba Advanced Sterilization Products, Irvine, CA, for an estimated $256,000. Service and maintenance contract to Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP)for four Sterrad ®System low temperature hydrogen peroxide terminal sterilizers and for two Evotech ECR high level disinfecting automated endoscope cleaning units. To ensure all six devices meets original MDM (Medical Device Manufacturer) specifications for maintenance and enhancements as required by government regulatory bodies such as OSHA and FDA a contract is critical. ASP does not authorize customers or third party repair entities to service these sterilization units,including the loading or reloading of software. ASP servicing includes all mandatory (OSHA or FDA related)and non-mandatory product system improvements (technical bulletins, TB’s) are included in your ASP Preferred Service Agreements. Also any software upgrades that are part of a TB will also be included in your service agreement.UIC Hospital to maximize utilization of these critical units used in surgery has depended upon ASP's Preferred Service – 24/7/365 with unlimited preventive maintenance (PMs) and all covered corrective maintenance (CMs).
