efferson Science Associates (JSA) has a prime contract with the Department of Energy for work in connection with the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) located in Newport News, Virginia. Jefferson Lab requires three superconducting quadrupole magnets (Q1, Q2, and Q3), an HB dipole and a superconducting dipole magnet for the Super High Momentum Spectrometer (SHMS) to be installed within its Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF).
We intend to award a firm fixed price subcontract to the offeror that will provide the lowest price technically acceptable to Jefferson Lab. The successful offeror will be selected through an evaluation process that will consider capability (including experience, past performance, and approach) and price. Step 1 of the evaluation process will use the experience and past performance information we receive in response to this Sources Sought notice to determine vendors that will be sufficiently competitive to submit proposals to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and facilities to cast, anneal, test, inspect and deliver the Dipole, Q2 & Q3 magnet yoke castings.
*We are finalizing the solicitation requirements and will have the Request for Proposal posted by October 14, 2011. If your company has experience comparable to this project and you are interested in competing for award, please register for this requirement on the Jefferson Lab Solicitation Bulletin Board at -
