The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Natick Soldier RD&E Center (NSRDEC) in support of the Infantry Combat Equipment Team (ICET) intends to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b) (1) to only one responsible source to Hardwire, Inc. for soft body armor materials to include 15" x 15" soft armor shootpacks to support PEO Soldier PM SPE's request for evaluating current, state-of-the-art, soft armor material capabilities.

Hardwire, Inc. has a patent application for the product, soft ballistic resistant armor, published as of Nov 2, 2017. Hardwire, Inc. is the only vendor able to provide comparable performance specification requirements for 15" x 15" soft armor shootpacks.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 332618 and the size standard is 500 employees.

The Federal Supply Code is: 9390.
