The proposed contract action is for maintenance of Hospital Dictaphone equipment and software , for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with Nuance Communications Inc., 3984 Pepsi Cola Drive, Melbourne, FL 32934. The purchase will be on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, due to proprietary hardware and software manufactured and maintanined by the company. Service is for Dictaphone equipment located in the Radiology Department of Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB TX.  Interested persons/vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the government.  This purchase is for commercial services.  There is no written solicitation.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS code) is 811219, and the size standard is $7 million.  This service is for a one year period only, there are no options.
