This action will result in the award of a Purchase Order for NGA Production Workstations. The Government intends to procure 220 Workstations directly from the manufacturer, which is in addition to a September 2015 procurement. The Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) is the primary imagery analysis exploitation tool for NGA. The IEC system includes both production software baseline (IEC image) as well as a specific hardware architecture. Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMCO) is the sole development contractor for the IEC system. During IEC system developtment, LMCO conducted a trade study which resulted in the selection of Hewlett Packard (HP) as the best hardware choice for the IEC systen hardware suite. The IEC software image was developed with the specific HP BIOS and other HP hardware components. Therefore, IEC software cannot be installed successfully on any workstation other than an HP. This overall engineering/testing of the IEC system was a significant effort which required a substantial investment of time/money. Therefore, utilizing any vendor's hardware other than HP would require a duplication inverstment in time/money by NGA.
