The Army Research Lab (ARL) requires two (2) high power tunable laser systems with the following minimum specifications, or equivalent:
- Shall be capable of continuous wave operation with a single longitudinal output mode and a fundamental transverse electromagnetic (TEM00) spatial mode with beam quality (M2) factor less than (<) 1.2.
- Shall have an output light that is linearly polarized with a ratio better than 100:1.
- Shall have an output spectral linewidth that must be less than (<) one (1) megahertz (MHz) in a 50-microsecond averaging time.
- Shall have all necessary control electronics to enable laser operation, including water-cooling chillers if necessary.
- Shall have an analog feedback mechanism with bandwidth greater than 20 kilohertz (kHz) for stabilization of the output frequency relative to an external reference.
- Shall produce tunable wavelength of the lasers in a continuous and deterministic manner.
- Shall have an output power of at least one (1) Watt over the entire wavelength tuning range.
- Shall meet the minimum/threshold tuning range for one (1) laser is from 1271.4 nanometers (nm) to 1255.5 nm, and best-effort/desired from 1296.6 nm to 1253.71nm.
- Shall meet the minimum/threshold tuning range for the other laser is from 745.62 nm to 738.8 nm, and best-effort/desired from 757.9 nm to 738.2 nm.
- Shipping and delivery shall be included to the Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD, 20783
