The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Sole Source, Firm Fixed Price contract to Raytheon Company, Tucson AZ for 33 refurbished vertical launch (VL) capable RIM-7P Guidance and Control Sections (GCS) for the Government of Chile with an option for 60 refurbished AIM-7M H Build GCSs for future Foreign Military Customers. In addition full service support will be procured for the 60 refurbished AIM-7M H Build GCSs. This effort is part of an Exchange Program as permitted by 40 USC 503 (2005), 41 USC 401 and 41 CFR 102-39. Under this Exchange Program, the U.S. Government will provide RIM-7P GCS assets and AIM-7M GCS assets to be refurbished to an operational status. In exchange, the U.S. Government will receive a credit that will be applied to the procurement of AIM-9X assets from Raytheon. Raytheon is the only source that possess the requisite technical and engineering capability to enter into an exchange program and fulfill the aforementioned requirements within the required timeframe.
