The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) intends to enter into a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Digital Film Technology, Los Angeles, California, to purchase maintenance and support services for the Spirit 4K Scanner and Bones Workstation, which were manufactured by Digital Film Technology. The Spirit 4K Scanner is a highly sensitive machine requiring precise calibration. The Spirit 4K Scanner captures the content of film as DPX files and relays this information to Bones Workstation, which ingests the files and packages them for further processing later in the workflow. The period of performance is September 27, 2012 through September 26, 2013, with four consecutive 12-month option periods. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements," 41 U.S.C. § 3304(a)(1)
. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, pricing data and other information which shows a bona fide ability to meet this requirement within 15 calendar days of this notice. No contract award will be made on the basis of information received in response to this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
