The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) is researching the market availability of vendors that can potentially provide the supplies described herein. The capability information provided in response to this market survey is not expected to be a proposal, but rather statements regarding the companyâs experience and capabilities. Information is to be submitted by 9 Mar 2009. Capability packages must not exceed 5 pages and must be submitted electronically.
Statement of Objectives
Purpose: The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is engaged in the design, development, integration, test and evaluation, fielding, certification, maintenance, life cycle, and logistic support of a spot color digital large format print capability.
Background and Scope or Mission: NGA uses large format plotters at remote sites to print map and charts to fulfill our mission. We are seeking information from vendors with experience or knowledge in developing or modifying large format Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (CMYK) printers to accept single color separates to be printed individually via a single spot color. The goal is to print red-light readable maps meeting military specification MIL-STD-2410(DMA) using single spot color on large format plotters.
Objectives: To develop any or all of these technologies:
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) compatible ultra violet (UV) spot ink cartridges as depicted by color and CIE values documented within NGAâs Standard Printing Color (SPC) catalog.
- OEM compatible UV Spot ink print heads as depicted by color and International Commission on Illumination (CIE) CIE values documented within NGAâs SPC catalog. (Excerpts of the catalog provided hardcopy upon request).
- OEM compatible firmware suitable to recognize third party Raster Image Processor (RIP) spot color separate submissions.
- Inks must have the capability to print on various papers (coated and uncoated) recommended by the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP) Government Printing Office (GPO). http://www.gpo.gov/acquisition/paperspecs_vol12.htm
1) It is anticipated that this requirement falls within NAICS 325910, size standard is 500 employees. Provide your small business status information for this NAICS along with your qualification information under any other SBA program, such as SDB, Disabled-Veteran Owned, HUBZone, etc.
