This project will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Food and Drug Administration is soliciting for a Gold Palladium target, sputter coater (manually operated, single cabinet design) and carbon evaporation accessory. The system must be a sputter coater for biological specimens; specimen chamber size should be a minimum of 4 inches diameter and 6 inches high; system shall be able to sputter coat and carbon coat in one instrument; system must include gold/palladium target; must include any accessories for carbon evaporation; must have capability to add extra accessories; must be designed for cool sputter coating or precious metals; area requirements shall be not larger than 24 x 22 x 24; 120 volts. This procurement will be firm fixed price and will be competed under simplified acquisition procedures.
