The Stateline Stewardship project consists of 387 acres of commercial thinning for hazardous fuels reduction.
These units are all located along the Idaho-Montana border. Whitebark pine restoration activities will also occur within those same units as a part of the commercial thinning. The service work associated with this stewardship project will include cutting and hauling of pole-sized material (4.0-6.9 inch DBH) within the commercial thinning units, spraying of existing noxious weed populations within the timber sale area during or post-harvest as well as meadow restoration activities in approximately 100 acres of historic meadows located immediately adjacent to the timber sale units. The meadow restoration activities include hand thinning of encroaching conifers to restore the meadows back to their historic sizes and conditions. The cut material would be scattered as part of the contract and then broadcast burned afterwards by Forest personnel.
