The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) - Emergency Response Branch intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract, to procure the Stratasys Fortus 450 to TriMech Solutions, LLC, 4661 Cox Road, Suite 302, Glen Allen, and VA 23060.

The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333517 Machine and Tool Manufacturing with size standard of 500 employees.

This sole source acquisition is required because Stratasys is the only company that makes an industrial grade filament deposition modeling system that meets the necessary performance, material specifications and no other filament deposition modeling system was found that could produce parts with ULTEM material with the desired build volume and accuracy. The proposed Stratasys Fortus 450 System is available through the proposed contractor. TriMech also has a local office and training center near the proposed instrument installation site and offers several introductory and advanced training courses at this facility, in addition to technical support and instrument service.

No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. This notice of intent is not a request for quote. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
