UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is requesting proposals from interested, respected, and experienced strategic planning consulting firms who understand higher education, medical research, health care, community engagement, and its people and operations. Strategic planning process will confirm, identify, and articulate the institution’s strategic initiatives with a focus on integration and alignment across the five schools Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Dentistry, Graduate School of Biomedical Science, and School of Health Professions (https://www.uthscsa.edu/academics) and supporting organizational units. The final product will be an ambitious yet achievable strategic plan for the upcoming five (5) years. This will include financial requirements for achieving the defined goals.. UTHSA strives to be recognized among the elite academic health centers in the United States. During the current 2018-2022 five-year strategic plan, UTHSA made significant progress towards this goal as signaled by: • Refining existing and launching new academic programs to fulfill future workforce and community needs; • Investments in clinical and research infrastructure to improve quality of care and discovery; • Implementing an organizational redesign to assist in realizing its long-term institutional vision; • Recruiting renowned faculty members throughout the institution who serve in positions of leadership at the local, state, and national level; • Advancing research through monumental growth, with a strong emphasis on aging, Alzheimer's and neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer; • Significant growth in its outpatient geographic footprint, with an emphasis on expanding primary care and services to meet the needs of the community and region; and, • Groundbreaking on UTHSA’s first standalone inpatient facility which will consolidate fragmented care across the region.
