The United States Agency for International Development's Mission to Nigeria (USAID/Nigeria) seeks assistance in implementing an activity to strengthen civil society's ability to influence the development and implementation of key democratic reforms at the national, state, and local levels. This activity will be carried out over a five year period (from effective award date). An estimated $20 million will be made available over the life of the project, subject to availability of funds.
The goal of the Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement program will be achieved through strategic partnerships between civil society coalitions and networks on the one hand, and critical stakeholders in Nigerian society on the other. The latter may include the media, reform-minded Nigerian government institutions or representatives, the private sector, as well as other influential public figures. The program will also explicitly aim to engage marginalized populations, such as women, youth, and the disabled in the process and emphasize the importance of leadership and innovation.
The resultant contract will be a cost-plus-fixed-fee type.
