The Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center is soliciting bids for a qualified professional Physician to provide medical services to students. This is a subcontract position only for limited weekly hours. Services are to be provided for (12) hours a week, (48) weeks a year on a fixed price service basis. Summer break (2 weeks) and winter holiday break (2 weeks)  are DOL-mandated center shutdowns and subcontractors are not normally paid unless requested to train or be on-call.

Services are to include: Advice to management on medical and health related issues and provisions, Input on pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and equipment, Be proactive in implementing healthy living and lifestyles with center activities, advise health education instructors as needed, ensure HCFA compliance for medical records, provide input on center required quarterly environment inspections, maintain non-health standing orders for lay staff, Oversee and perform exams, diagnostics and treatments for each new class of enrollees, and care for existing student body as needed, Oversee referrals, institutional care arrangements, medical leaves and sick call requirements. Bid packets will contain copy of current State of Michigan license, Qualifications Brief, DEA Certificate, and proof of Liability insurance, and hourly rate desired, or the bid form can be emailed to [email protected] with the other documents sent under separate cover soon thereafter. We require candidates with General Practitioner and OB/GYN experience.

Job Corps is a national training and employment program administered by the Department of Labor to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth. Awarded subcontractor will be awarded for the last three option years in the present contract.
