The government intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for this requirement. After following a thorough trade study in 2003, the NOAA, National Geodetic Survey procured an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS) medium format airborne digital imaging sensor. The sensor is used in development of standards, procedures and guidelines for contracting, national security and emergency response, and research and development. Yearly maintenance is required to ensure that performance of the sensor. Maintenance includes replacement of lens filter and camera body, radiometric and geometric recalibration, POS AV system check out, CCS system check out, FMS system check out, hardware warranty services, and software support services. Without this maintenance, it is impossible to ensure system specifications are met. Applanix engineers and technicians are uniquely qualified to perform work on the system.
