The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Power Services Group (PSG) has a requirement for several types of Surge Protective Devices/Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors (SPD/TVSS). The purpose of these devices is to limit transient over voltages and divert surge currents appearing on FAA power distribution networks.
This Screening Information Request/Request for Offer (SIR) is for the acquisition of Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products that meet the requirements given in Section C and Attachment J.2 of the SIR.
SPD/TVSS devices will be independently tested by the Government in accordance with requirements detailed in this SIR.
This is a Small Business set-aside. The principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this effort is 335999 All Other Miscellaneous Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing with a size standard of 500 employees.
The resulting single award will be Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (FFP/IDIQ) with a period of performance of a two year base period with three one year options.
Questions or comments pertaining to this SIR will be accepted by the Government until 5:00 p.m. EST on October 10, 2014. All questions must be submitted in written form via email to Cynthia Birks, Contracting Officer, at
[email protected]. Any Offeror or potential Offeror must not contact any other person within the FAA regarding this SIR.
The FAA intends to publish responses to questions on October 17, 2014.

The Government is not liable for costs associated with the preparation, submittal of inquiries or responses for this announcement and will not reimburse any firm for cost incurred in responding to this SIR. Responses will not be returned.
