The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Symantec Corporation, VeriSign Authentication Busines Unit, 350 Ellis Street, Mountain View, CA, for software and managed PKI maintenance for certificate units related to the public-facing electronic certificates in the CDC.GOV name space. These certificates are used for SSL/TLS point-to-point connections as well as client connections and identity validation. Critical CDC information systems rely on the service and technology for basic functionality and security requirements. The MPKI support is telephone and is available 24/7. Software and support includes the following elements: issuance of X.509 certificates that interoperate with operating systems, devices, VPN, and web browser software; managed PKI Service simplifes administrator tasks, and automates the process of provisioning certificates and configuring applications to use those certificates; reporting on existing certs, revocations, and projection needs are included. The needs for this fiscal year include MPKI for SSL Standard Certificate Units (500 quantity), MPKI for SSL Premium Certificate Units (10 quantity), MPKI for Codesigning – Authenticode (10 quantity), and MPKI for Rapid SSL Internet (30 quantity). This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
