The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on a noncompetitive basis with the Medical College of Wisconsin, 8701 Watertown Plank Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53226, to purchase journal supplement publications entitled âDrug Abuse Research in Rural Communitiesâ This is a special issue published by the Journal of Rural Health through the the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin Editorial Office. The Journal of Rural Health, reviewed and accepted the proceedings of the conference entitled âAdvances and Challenges in Conducting Research in Rural Communitiesâ held in December 2004 for the publication of the manuscripts. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 511120, Size Standard 500 employees is applicable to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
