First published Wednesday, November 2, 2016 The University awarded a contract for The Data Guild's FAER software to The Data Guild LLC, Palo Alto, CA, for an estimated $325,000. Purchase from The Data Guild their proprietary FAER messaging software and support services to improve patient communication coordination for the Coordinated Healthcare for Complex Kids (CHECK) program. The unique features of FAER software are as follows: provide patient-centric messaging that fits easily into healthcare staff workflows, including two-level security access from multiple devices (desktop, smart phone and smart tablet). Community Health Workers (CHWs) use Faer Messaging securely in their office or on the field and can send and receive in real time secure SMS messages from caregivers and patients. Faer Messaging includes an editable library of message templates (both in English and Spanish), automated tailored messaging (using Faer's algorithm), staff group messaging (that allows for patients specialized care), and support for surveys and questionnaires data collection (both quantitative and qualitative). CHWs are using Faer Messaging to engage patients, send real time supportive messaging, and coordinate logistics with several appointment reminders, transportation referrals, social service referrals and disease-focused tailored interventions. Together the MOTION and FAER algorithms bring together a patient's multitude of data (medical and psychosocial data, use of Medicaid services such as transportation and doctor appointments, medication prescription data, emergency room visits and/or hospitalizations data, school attendance data, demographic data, neighborhood characteristics, and more) to create a patient health profile with smart recommendations for healthcare plan action items. The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the compatibility of equipment, accessories, replacement parts, or service is a paramount consideration.
