The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education is accepting bids only from roofing contractors for a roof renovation project at Geneva High School in Geneva, Illinois. The roofing contractor will act as the project general contractor. Bids will not be accepted from firms other than dedicated roofing contractors. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: miscellaneous roofing repairs, liquid-applied polyurethane roof membranes, sheet metal flashing and trim, other related minor mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. The work site is Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134. The on-site construction is scheduled to commence during the district's 2022 summer break starting approximately on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with a Substantial Completion date of Friday, August 12, 2022. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date. Refer to the Project Manual for additional schedule information. Bid Documents may be obtained by only roofing contractors by sending an email to Steve Cashman at the Cashman Stahler Group at [email protected] after 12:00 noon Central Time on Thursday, January 13, 2022. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Avenue, Geneva, IL 60134. Meet at the main office entrance. A Bidder's failure to attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. Required prequalification documentation must be submitted in Adobe PDF format to the District's Architect via the email address listed above on or before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, January 25, 2021. A Bidder's failure to submit the required prequalification documentation will be considered grounds for rejection of the Contractor's bid. Sealed bids must be received by Mr. Scott Ney, Director of Facility Operations, Coultrap Educational Services Center, 227 N. Fourth Street, Geneva, IL 60134, on or before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The sealed bids will then be publicly opened and read. It is anticipated that the contracts will be awarded by the Board of Education at their regular meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish construction performance and labor and material payment bonds in the full amount of the final Contract Sum. The Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
