The Project’s purpose is to increase agricultural productivity and incomes and improve the private sector’s role in agriculture extension services to smallholder farmers.  The project will also increase resilience of vulnerable communities and households.  While Feed the Future has nine outcomes, only five outcomes are the responsibility of this contractor.

 

The Contractor must achieve the following five outcomes to accomplish the FTF purpose as a result of this solicitation:

 

  1. Farmers receive improved and increased agricultural inputs
  2. Improved capacity of agriculture extension workers, service providers, farmers, and agribusiness entrepreneurs
  3. Improved and sustainable agriculture production and post-harvest technologies and practices adopted at the farm level
  4. Improved Market Efficiency
  5. Increased capacity of GON and local organizations

 

Separate contracts have been already awarded for the following four outcomes. While the Contractor will not have any direct responsibility for these four Outcomes as indicated below, he or she must coordinate with the organizations responsible for these Outcomes:

 6.   Improved knowledge and behavior on nutrition, hygiene and sanitation practice

 

7.   Improved access to water and sanitation facilities

8.   Improved Agricultural Policy Environment (IFPRI)

9.   Increased resilience of vulnerable communities and households through skills development
