This requisition is for 10 Thermo Fisher Scientific TermoFlex Water cooled Recirculating Chillers.  These chillers would provide chilled water to cool the magnets and electronics of our Thermo Fisher Scientific high resolution mass spectrometry instruments.  The ThermoFlex Water cooled Recirculating Chillers provide an operationa pressure set to 40 psi, which is preferred to the house water pressure of 50 psi.  The chillers are the only ones that certifed for use with the Thermo Fisher Scientific DFS high resolution mass spectrometry instruments in use in our lab, that can transfer instrument generated heat to the house chilled water without pumping this impure water through the instrument itself. Direct plumbing of the house chilled water without a recirlulating chiller could lead to instrument damage requiring costly repairs in excess of $200,000.
