This requirement is for a toolmakers lathe-or equal for the 9 MSG/SDSX. The toolmakers lathe is required for the manufacturing of custom tools,repairing damaged aerospace ground equipment and aircraft munitions/armaments. The lathe is used to manufacture aircraft bushings and specialized fasteners in the RQ-4, U-2, T-38 airframes.Please see special requirements below:

 

Lathe MUST be specified as a "Toolmakers Lathe" or "Tool Room Lathe". This designation signifies that the manufactures sole intent was to produce a lathe that far exceeds the industrial standard for manufacturing small complex special tools. Not to be confused with "Bench Lathes". Bench Lathes are typically small in size just like the Toolmakers Lathe however they lack the required tolerance used during manufacturing and are specially designed for non-industrial/home use.

Lathe MUST be for manual operation only, no CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) capability.

Lathe MUST be configured for 230 volt, 3 phase electrical input.

Lathe MUST meet or exceed manufacturing standards/specifications listed for GSA part number: MODEL EE 10x20. Monarch Lathes GSA Contract # GS-06F-0018T

Lathe MUST include the following accessories: Taper Attachment,  Steady Rest, Follow Rest, Tailstock, Machine mounted digital readout system and Collet Attachment with Drawbar/Hand wheel configuration.
