Sealed Bids will be received until 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 216 South Main St, Davidson, NC 28036, at which time and place Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the construction of the Fire Station No. 2 project. After Bids are opened, the Owner shall evaluate them in accordance with the methods and criteria set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids, and to award a contract which, in its judgment, is in the best interest of the Owner. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder, taking into consideration quality, prior performance and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the Contract. No Bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening except as may be allowed under North Carolina General Statutes. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 216 South Main St, Davidson NC, 28036 with a site visit to follow. The Project consists of complete site work and construction of approximately 5,500 square foot fire station. Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87 and the Instruction to Bidders. Bid Security in the amount of five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid (in a separate envelope) and shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.
