SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking sources for the fabrication and delivery of a transfocator. The transfocator is a a flexible hard x-ray focusing system capable of producing a focused beam as well as controlling the x-ray spot size at the sample over a photon energy range from 5 to 20 keV.
The transfocator, shall reside inside an Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) environment in the SLAC LCLS MFX beamline. The transfocator shall be comprised of 10 individual actuators capable of holding up to 10 compound refractive x-ray lenses. Each actuator must have both horizontal and vertical translation to accurately position the x-ray lenses. The entire vacuum chamber shall be mounted on a translation stage to position the system along the x-ray beam. Water cooling capable of removing 20 W of heat is required
