The purpose of this announcement is to express the intent of the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) to enter into a sole source contract with TransTech Innovations for the investigation and creation of a service plan to maintain JTA’s Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Inverters for the Jacksonville Monorail (Skyway). TransTech has the original team that designed the APU and Inverters for the Jacksonville Monorail (Skyway). The system at present is over 20 years old and is in need of an overhaul. The integration leg of the propulsion system and the train control system is paramount and calls for understanding of this communication system to ensure functionality. If any alteration from the original design of how the system communicates will cause for a full system recommissioning which will add risk to JTA of possibility not being able to operate the trains going forward. SPECIFICATIONS: Investigation and creation of a service plan to maintain JTA’S APU and inverter units in function for the next 10 years: • Failure history and inventory analysis to identify minimum board quantities to be kept in stock. • Preliminary analysis of critical parts/ failure risk/ obsolescence to determine which board(s) should be redesigned and plan the obsolescence management strategy. • Evaluation of our test benches condition and determine upgrades required. • Preparation and presentation of an analysis report to review action plan/service offered. • Maintenance support for maintaining the APU and Inverters after needed improvements.
