The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, intends to award a sole source procurement to CARDIANBCT, LACKWOOD, CO. for 50 CS.  OF ISBT CAT#80884: TRIMA ACCEL RBC PLATELET PLASMA SETS. The requirement is for the ARMED SERVICES BLOOD BANK CENTER.

Trima Accel RCB Platelet Plasma sets are used in the collection of Donor Platelet units on the Trima Platelet Machine. No other company supplies them but Cardian BCT , maufacturer of the equipment that is in  use.

The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.

Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
