This BPA will decrease costs, reduce paperwork, and save time by eliminating the need for repetitive, individual purchases from the schedule contract. The end result is to create a purchasing mechanism for the ordering activity that works better and costs less. The requirement is on an as needed basis
CLIN 00001. The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) Agency desires to seek out a service provider who posesses the ability to develop along with key FEMA personnel, a network of seven (7) turnkey terminal or "cross dock operation" centers in the Southeastern Territory. As national emergency situation occurs, the need for transportation and logistics services into the "affected area" are most critical. An efficient reliable and highly flexible operation is needed to provide the agency as well as local governments, the supplies needed to present relief to citizens in the affected area. ( The service provider must possess an adequate infrastructure such as: own and operate a terminal trucking services, own trucks and truck drivers, shuttle to move to staging areas, power positioning, linehaul to destination, trailer repositioning, driver delay and retention, security guard services, travel and management expenses and internet connectivity) information technology to efficiently manage, communicate and process various levels of supplies to the affected area.
Period of Performance: 08/01/2010 thru 09-30-2011 with four one year options extension
