The Contracting Department, NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center (FLC), Norfolk, VA, intends to negotiate a single award, firm fixed price (FFP) indefinite delivery, requirements contract under FAR Part 12 “Acquisition of Commercial Itemsâ€ï¿½ and FAR Part 13.5 “Test Program for Certain Commercial Itemsâ€ï¿½. The requirement being competed is for Machinery and Machine Guard Standards Course training in support of the Naval Safety and Environmental Training Center, Norfolk, VA. The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with various types of common machinery and related safety standards. The course presents an approach to machine inspection that enables participants to recognize hazards such as those created by point of operation, rotating parts, flying chips; and provides options to achieve abatement. The course also includes robotics. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 611710, Educational Support Services with a size Standard of $14.0M. The prospective Request for Proposal (RFP) will be processed utilizing a 100% Small Business Set-aside. The resulting contract will be for the twelve (12) month base period and two (2) twelve month option periods. FAR 52.217-8 “Option to Extend Servicesâ€ï¿½ will be included in the solicitation and contract. All options will be evaluated in accordance with FAR 17.206(a).
