NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE This Notice of Intent is to Sole Source Project Title: VA Geriatric Research Education. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 22, hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm-fixed-price purchase order for TUITION FEES to Harvard Medical School. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 611310, and the size standard is $27.5M. The course schedule is for February 26, 2021 to March 2, 2021. This requirement is for training of 75 VA Geriatric Scholars. The participants are a part of a workforce development program to improve healthcare for our aging Veterans. The program is a collaborative effort of the VA Office of Geriatrics & Extended Care and ten (10) VA Geriatric Research Education Clinical Centers (GRECCs). The intensive course provides 30 hours of continuing medical education accreditation and will be awarded at a price of $79,500.00. Participating Healthcare Facility: VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System 11301 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90073. The proposed contract is for items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the Authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) based on the application of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). This is a notice of intent to award a single-source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. This hereby constitutes a synopsis of the action proposed in this announcement. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission or objective. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. This is not a solicitation.
