This is an official Sources Sought.
A requirement exists for a survey of Building 430, 433, and 435 Cooling Water Piping at Space Base Delta 2. Large amounts of metal rust flakes have been found lodged in Cooling Towers, Chillers, and Generators that support these buildings. This is indicative of pipe wall thinning brought on by heavy internal corrosion.
The U.S. Air Force 460th Contracting Squadron at Buckley SFB, CO is posting this Sources Sought to find potential vendors capable of providing Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) for Cooling Water Pipes.
The government is searching the market for contractors capable of providing Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) in a timely manner. This must be done without shutting off the water. What certifications are required for a contractor to conduct UTT? how long does UTT take? What are the risks? Are there other, less risky forms of testing the pipes? Has the government overlooked anything for this requirement in the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS)?
