Bid NIGP code 03596-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle UWSP Waterfowl Productivity Research will be using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS, a.k.a. drones) in upcoming research. The research involves locating waterfowl nests and broods. UAS thermal cameras will be used, as this technology has been demonstrated to increase detection of waterfowl nests and broods and reduces the time required, as compared to traditional ground surveys performed by humans. The DJI Matrice 300 RTK with Zenmuse H20T thermal camera is preferred for this research. The specifications of this UAS required for this research are outlined in the bid document. There are no other UASs that have these specifications at this time. The DJI Matrice 300 RTK equipped with Zenmuse H20T camera have been used successfully by other wildlife researchers for this exact type of research (locating waterfowl nests and broods).
