The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, with AOptix Technologies, 675 Campbell Technology Parkway, Campbell CA 95008 for the upgrade of two (2) existing LCT-5 lasercom terminals. This notice is posted concurrently with FA8751-11-R-0012-SUP in order to aid in the Government's determination whether any new products or services are available that could fulfill this requirement.

Though this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, information received by the response date of this solicitation will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
