THE INTENT OF THIS ACTION IS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The Government intends to issue a sole source contract to Crowley Micrographics, Inc. of Frederick, MD, a small business, to provide the following contract line items under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a request for competitive proposals. NARA requires upgrading to existing Mekel MACH IV microfilm scanners manufactured by Crowley. They are the only distributor for this equipment in North America. The upgrade includes new software with strip-scanning capability, new image processing cards used with the new software, installation services, and maintenance and support for the new software, including all routine software updates and technical support.
