The work includes providing renovations and alterations to the building to convert the existing second floor mezzanine into an administrative space for office staff and conference room. The renovation and alterations include but are not limited to providing HVAC, second floor restroom facilities, fire protection system, power, lighting, additional partitioning, windows, and ceilings. In addition to the work on the second floor, a second egress stair will be enclosed into a rated stairwell. An electrical room will be provided for existing electrical equipment and panels. A new concrete slab will be provided exterior to the building to house the new mechanical systems.
The requirement contains four (4) bid options as shown below:
Bid Option 1: A 12'x12' roll-up door will be removed, structure modified, and a new 14'x16' roll-up door will be provided. The existing concrete ramp and curb shall be modified to the new dimensions of the roll-up door.
Bid Option 2: The high bay floor will be provided with an epoxy floor finish. Should Option 2 be exercised and awarded, this work shall be performed at the conclusion of all other work under the base bid contract to prevent construction efforts from damaging the floor.
Bid Option 3: The concrete pad and fence for the mechanical yard shall be extended to accommodate an additional 20' by 24' of fenced, lockable, exterior storage.
Bid Option 4: The fire alarm and fire suppression systems shall be extended to include servicing the high bay space and the first floor spaces.
All work will be performed at Building 24017, Gilbert Road aboard MCB Quantico, VA.
