The U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy Bogota, Colombia is seeking qualified offerors for the upgrading of the Site Lighting System at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. The project will be located inside the embassy compound. The project consists of adding and replacing existing light fixtures with new technology LED fixtures and their corresponding electrical service through an underground duct bank. The project also consists of adding new steel poles for the new lighting fixtures and the extension or addition of new lighting circuits from an existing lighting panel/lighting contactor. The solicitation is planned for release on FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) on or about November 10, 2009, with award of a contract anticipated in December 2009. It is anticipated that construction will start as soon as possible after contract award, with a performance period of approximately two hundred seventy (270) calendar days from contract execution to substantial completion. The resulting contract type will be firm fixed-price, and the estimated value of construction is between U.S. $600,000 and $1,200,000. The solicitation will be unrestricted to allow U.S. and non U.S. firms to participate in the selection process.
