The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) and negotiate a contract on a sole-source basis to Northrop Grumman Marine Systems (NGMS), Sunnyvale, CA for FY13 ongoing support of the United States and United Kingdom Underwater Launcher Subsystem. This effort will include support for TRIDENT II D5 Deployed SSBNs, SSGNs, Program Management and Engineering Refueling Overhaul Shipyard Support, Gas Generator Production, TRIDENT II D5 Closure Production, US and UK Launcher Trainer Support, and US and UK SPALT and NCR/PAD Projects. Additionally, the contract will include support for the Advanced Launcher Development Program (ALDP) and necessary related activities to support the U.S. and U.K. Trident SSBN Replacement Programs. The ALDP effort includes design and development of a prototype launcher subsystem; development of launcher subsystem requirements and verification matrices and performance of studies related to tasks to support underwater launch technology design, development, risk reduction, testing and payload. The anticipated contract will contain a base year period of performance of 12 months and will include an option provision to increase the level-of-effort line items up to 30%. The resultant contract anticipated award date is October 1, 2012.

An Award Notice will be publicized, when applicable, along with the supporting Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition (J&A), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 5.301, 5.303, and 6.305 under separate notice. See Note 22.
