The National Park Service contemplates issuing a sole source contract for veterinarian services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested firms or persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. All proposals received within THREE (3) days after date of publication of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The details of the requirement are described below. REQUIREMENT DETAILS: Veterinary services are required for the bison roundup at Badlands National Park, SD. Responsibilities include drawing blood, insert AVID microchips, attach federal ID tags and hip tags, provide certificate of health, pregnancy checks, and technical assistance with other veterinary services. Badlands National Park requires a veterinarian that has experience with bison and familiarity with NPS wildlife procedures. Dr. Boyd Porch has specialized experience and the depth of knowledge that is required by Badlands National Park.
