The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole source award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). A sole-source, fixed-price procurement with VayTek Digital Imaging 505 North Third St. Po Box 732 Fairfield, IA for the purchase of 300 (each) of the Viper Desktop Recorders and 25 (each) mobile Viper Recorders under RFQ E010526. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.

Based on market research conducted only the Viper recorders manufactured by VayTek Digital Imaging meet the technical required for the specified FBI system. The FBI requires recorders that will be used to collect both evidence and intelligence for surveillance operations , have the ability to fit approximately one month of time-lapsed video and motion into one single hard drive as well as export and integrate images into future data repositories. The recorders must be compatible with existing viper recorders therefore VayTek Digital is the only company to meet the FBI requirement.
