The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 12 Network Contracting Activity, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Spectranetics Corp., 9965 Federal Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80921-3617 for lease and preventive maintenance services for the CVX-300 Excimer Laser System (SN80614). Location is the William S. Middleton VA Medical Center, 2500 Overlook Terrace, Madison, WI 53705. NAICS 339112 applies. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C.253 (c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The Spectranetics CVX-300 Excimer Laser System is the only FDA approved system for use in minimally invasive interventional procedures within the cardiovascular system and for the removal of problematic pacemaker and defibrillator cardiac leads. Period of Performance shall be from May 1, 2014- April 30, 2014. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, nor is it a solicitation or request for offers.
