ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Town of Spangle Water System Improvements Sealed bids will be received until 11:00:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Spangle Town Hall, W 115 Second Street, P.O. Box 147, Spangle, Washington 99031. No proposals will be accepted after the above-stated time. Immediately following the above stated time, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by cash, a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, payable to the Town of Spangle, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond, each in the full amount of the contract price. The project generally consists of the following work: Schedule A Base Bid work consists of installing approximately 390 feet of 8-inch diameter water main to replace a line in the Rock-Main Alley and installing approximately 203 feet of 8-inch diameter water main to replace a line in Pine Street, including fire hydrant installation, service connections, trenching, backfill, and related work. Schedule B Additive Alternate work consists of grading, compaction, gravel surface restoration, and placing approximately 85 tons of hot mix asphalt in Pine Street. The Contractor will be allowed ten (10) working days to achieve substantial completion for the Schedule A Base Bid work. Five (5) additional working days will be allowed to complete the additive alternate work. Bidders may download digital documents at no cost and obtain printed documents, at Bidders Expense, by choosing the “Order” option. Posted on this plan room, under the “Documents” section, is an official list of locations where documents may be examined. This project is funded through a Community Development Block Grant administered through Spokane County. Award of the construction contract is contingent upon approval by the funding agency. The Town shall have the right to reject any or all bids not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular.
