Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has established a contracting opportunity to: 1. Install Contractor-provided fiber optic cable to be used as cross connects in the overall fiber optic network; 2. Perform splicing and terminations of the existing long-run fiber installations and the cross connect cables; 3. Perform testing of the installed fibers, splices and terminations, of the entire fiber optic network. This solicitation seeks bids for the following services related to installation of cross connects: 1. Location of feasible paths to install cross connect cables called out in WMATA ¿design packages¿; 2. Labor to complete the cable installations using contractor supplied materials; 3. Labor to test completed cable installations for 95% functionality; 4. Labor to troubleshoot any non-functional installation work and correct any problems; 5. Labor to mark up the design packages for WMATA recording of as-built drawings; 6. Project management, including quality management of labor in the project; 7. Warranty services as per this solicitation; 8. Delivery of a complete and functional set of fiber optic cross connects according to contracted schedule and budget. This solicitation seeks bids for the following services related to splicing, terminating and testing: 1. Labor to plan splicing/terminations work for the backbone and cross connect cables called out in WMATA design packages; 2. Labor to complete the splicing/terminations work using contractor supplied materials; 3. Labor to test completed cable installations for 95% functionality; 4. Labor to troubleshoot any non-functional installation or splicing/termination work and correct any problems; 5. Labor to mark up the design packages for WMATA recording of as-built drawings; 6. Project management, including quality management of labor in the project. The resultant contract, if awarded, will be federally funded.
