Invitation for Bid (IFB), Solicitation No. FIRPG211014/WJG Rosslyn Traction Power Sub-Station Traction Power Cable Tray Replacement Contract - Blue/Orange Lines in Virginia (VA) Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has established a contracting opportunity rehabilitation and upgrade of the existing Traction Power Cable system to include but not limited to replacement of the positive and negative cables, horizontal support cable trays and negative switchboard to support the State of Good Repair Program and accommodate the additional power capacity as required for the 100% 8-Car Train Program. The resultant contract, if awarded, will be federally funded. You are hereby invited to submit to WMATA a bid to furnish all the labor, materials, and any other related items required for the performance of Contract No. FIRPG211014. The Scope of Work includes the following; (Bidder / Contractor will be responsible for all incidentals which are necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Contract). Replace positive Traction Power feeder cables and negative return cables and associated cable support trays between the TPSS and 3rd rail/impendence bond. Replace drainage and negative switchboards. Replace and upgrade substation bus-ducts, as required. Provide materials including conduits, cable trays, and support hardware. Provide grounding and bonding as specified and as required. Install, and subsequently remove, temporary jumper cables and associated connections to facilitate temporary power provisions during replacement of existing equipment. Provide all equipment, testing, labor, cables, connections, etc. to complete all work required on the construction documents. Conduct witness and field and factory testing of all new and replace equipment/wiring/appurtenances. Provide the total recommended spare parts list with unit price costs associated, and total overall estimate.
