WMATA's Print Shop has an inkjet press located at its new facility (Good Luck Road -GLR. The intent of this award is to supply WMATA's Print Shop with a dye-based ink or equivalent for the continuation of its normal operations. The ink supplied to WMATA's Print Shop must provide optimum print quality and engineered for the print heads use for the IP5000 Inkjet system. The dye-ink provided must be compatible with the inkjet press. The dye-ink will provided on a need be basis. The Authority intends to award the proposed vendor with a multi-year Agreement with options years, all of which are subject to availability of funds. The selected vendor will be required to provide high-quality dye-based ink or equivalent with a quick turnaround (two to three days) from notification to proceed. TheIP5000 Inkjet system will be used to print thousands of bus timetables, brochures and other key collateral materials daily. WMATA's Print Shop anticipates primarily printing a volume of bus timetables up to 1.5 million duplex sheets per year or 3.0 million images per year.
