This solicitation is for the refill of propylene glycol for the nineteen (19) bulk storage tanks. The department of Rail Services uses a third rail deicer propylene glycol (PG) throughout the rail system (outdoors) stored in 19 - 5,000 gallon bulk storage tanks located throughout WMATA's rail yards. Third rail deicer (PG) agent is used to prevent and/or remove the buildup of ice and snow during wintery weather. When sprayed onto the third rail, it melts existing ice or snow and prevent further buildup. This will allow for the continuation of safe train movement throughout the WMATA rail system.
