The Naval Inventory Control Point requires rentals for conference rooms at the Holiday Inn Morgantown, PA for the period of 10/01/2007-09/30/2008. Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk Philadelphia intends to negotiate a sole-source purchase order with Holiday Inn for the rentals in the amount of $40,000.00. The Holiday Inn in Morgantown, PA is used by NAVICP Mechanicsburg and Philadelphia personnel for various meetings held throughout the year. The reasoning behind the sole source is that this particular hotel is centrally located between the two sites. Due to the remote location, the Holiday Inn is the only known source which has conference rooms large enough to accommodate the needs of both activities. In addition, they are the only known source in that area with the type of equipment (audio, visual, etc.) necessary for the meetings. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation will be awarded as a result of this announcement. However, interested persons may submit an offer which will be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. See note 22. Responses should be received no later than Thursday, September 20, 2007.
