The project consists of the construction of a Roller Compacted Concrete Dam on Elkwater Fork of the Tygart Valley River in Randolph County, West Virginia. The dam will be located on Elkwater Fork approximately 1½ miles upstream of US Route 219 approximately 27 miles south of Elkins. The 123 foot high dam will be constructed using pre-cast upstream concrete panels with roller compacted core and formed conventional concrete downstream stepped facing. Major items of work include 124,000 cubic yards of roller compacted concrete, 61,000 square feet of pre-cast panels, 130,000 cubic yards of foundation excavation, 8940 cubic yards of conventional concrete, 605 cubic yards of rock rip rap, 55,000 cubic yards of rock fill, 11,000 linear feet of drill hole and pressure grouting, access road and bridge, sediment erosion control, and seeding and mulching. This procurement is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). This is an UNRESTRICTED procurement. For subcontracting purposes the applicable NAICS Code is 237990 with a small business size standard of $28.5 million. The estimated range for this project is over $10 million. The required performance time is 1015 calendar days. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on, or about July 21, 2005. Site Showing will be held August 11, 2005.
