SMALL BUSINESS COMPETIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM ACQUISITION
Stream stabilization projects: (DSR BR-06-002 & BR-06-007). See attached specifications and drawings for specifics.
BR-06-02 (Westbrook): The purpose of this project is to stabilize approximately 265? of eroding bank along Satterlee Creek and adjacent to a business and home owned by Benny Westbrook. The stream bank will be excavated to achieve the required slopes for the R-6 riprap installation. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to secure a spoil area for excess material from the riprap toe excavation.
BR-06-07 (Horton): The purpose of this project is to stabilize approximately 375? of eroding bank along Horn Brook and adjacent to a several buildings including a house, barn, and wool shop on property owned by Thomas Horton. The upstream section of riprap will extend beyond Mr. Horton?s property and necessary arrangements will be made with the adjacent landowner. A significant amount of gravel deposition will be removed from the streambed and will be used to meet the design slopes for the proposed riprap. A combination of excavation and fill will be necessary to achieve the required slopes for the R-8 riprap installed. Several fallen and unstable trees and other woody debris within the work area will need to be removed from the stream channel. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to secure a spoil area for excess material and debris.
The magnitude of this projects is between $100,000 and $250,000.

Central Contract Registration, Online Certifications and Representations, and direct deposit are required for this contract. A 20% bid bond on Standard Form 24 is required.
The rip rap size to use on this project is the size specified on the rip rap specification. All other references to size are to be disregarded.
