DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in Houston, Texas, has a requirement titled "Construct New 12KV Underground Feeder for project number 580-18-113, per issue for construction Drawings and Specifications. This acquisition will be solicited pursuant to the Veterans' First Public Law 109-461 as a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). At least 25 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel shall be spent on the concern's employees or the employees of other eligible SDVOSB concerns. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) has a need to construct a new 12kV underground feeder around the MEDVAMC campus to provide power redundancy. The current single 12kV utility line is past its life expectancy and could fail at any time. This project will connect the entire campus to a new 12kV line and allow for the old line to be replaced with minimal interruptions to facility operations. The project also includes the relocation of telecommunications, fire alarm, and fiber optic cables out of modular building B122 that has been condemned due to mold, and into a permanent structure. The project will be completed in phases as the surrounding buildings on campus will be in operation and utility shutdowns will need to be coordinated. The period of performance will be 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings, will be available electronically on or about July 14, 2021, on this website. Hard copies will not be mailed. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP).
